Role Overview
The Account Manager will act as a strategic partner to a portfolio of clients, ensuring their travel programmes deliver measurable value, efficiency, and compliance. This role demands deep industry knowledge, consultative relationship management, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders to shape and optimise travel strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Act as the main contact for assigned accounts, building strong, long-term relationships.
- Understand client travel policies, objectives, and challenges to provide tailored solutions.
- Conduct regular review meetings and deliver account performance reports.
Commercial & Strategic Support
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved compliance with travel policies.
- Negotiate with suppliers and partners to maximise value for clients.
- Support contract renewals and contribute to business retention and growth.
Business Development
- Spot opportunities to expand services within existing accounts.
- Collaborate with the sales team to support new business proposals and onboarding.
- Represent Selective Travel Management at industry events and client meetings.
Experience & Skills Required
- Essential: minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in corporate travel management account management (TMC or similar).
- Strong understanding of travel industry systems, supplier relationships, and policy compliance.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data and provide actionable insights.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex accounts simultaneously.
